The Assumption:
At Happiness Incorporated (HI!), we believe Happiness is a nutrient.

The Act:

The Dose:
Take Better Decisions: Use the Stability Principle
Not a day passes when you do not have to take decisions.
However Small or Big - Decisions continue to demand an answer from you- day in and day out.
And often there is no alternative to taking definitive decisions. You simply have to decide.
Post-Decision: very often a feeling of dissatisfaction lingers after you have taken a decision.
Many times even when you have decided, you somehow keep returning to feeling that the one alternative you did not choose would have been better (esp for the so called 'big' decisions in life) .
This situation is not a comfortable one to be in. You yourself can rate the life quality where such a post-decision dissatisfaction has become a routine occurrence - a daily juggling between competing alternatives - where each somehow seems better than the rest.
One stands to gain from The Stability Principle. The Stability Principle can largely reduce this post-decision dissatisfaction.
It helps you choose the alternative that gives you the optimal satisfaction - after being decided for. This is after all the objective of you making any decision.
For instance, when you switch jobs, the decision of choosing a firm is based on your assessment of where your optimal satisfaction lies. This principle is based on the observation that the one alternative that is adjudged as the best (by You) in the Stable states of your being (essentially remaining calm, restful, un-agitated) is indeed the best alternative. Thus, The Stability Principle advises you to go for the alternative that seems the best in your stable states of mind.
Stable State of mind is not a hypothetical entity. Just avoid juggling between alternatives at the 11th hour. This is because, most likely, the alternative chosen when you are anyways agitated by the arrival of the decision-moment (performance anxiety) is less than optimal.
A Stable Decision is the one which is taken during Stable States of your being. Be Confident.
