The Dose:
You will be Happier if you are a Happiness-Advocate !
Happiness & then more happiness. You want it. Alright.
But do you get MORE happiness simply by desiring it?
Desiring is insufficient most of the times.
One way which can potentially bring more Happiness to you is Happiness-Advocacy.
Let's talk about Happiness-Advocacy here.
Happiness-Advocacy is a state-of-being expressed as your acts, gestures, expressions throughout the day.
A state-of-being where you convey to people (with due sincerety) that you value happiness, you connect with them by inquiring (empathy only) as to how (happy) they are, you make people see the value of their lives and advantages of being happy about their own lives - all of which is Happiness-Advocacy .
It works this way. Every time you do these and other related things you have an extraordinary opportunity to appreciate life. To appreciate what makes people happy and or unhappy. This is invaluable - you have an opportunity to know what are the likely 'life-events and life-conditions' that cause sadness and happiness in people.
Simply put, Happiness-Advocacy enormously helps you build your appreciation of life.
Thus, you learn to guard yourself against most instances leading to un-happiness.
'Guarding yourself' is not avoiding situations which are likely to bring sadness. Guard means being fully prepared to face challenges.
Just as an instance, imagine an acquaintance of yours not happy about the 'uncertainty' in her career direction and or objectives. She doesn't know if she is doing what she really wants to do- whether things will fall in place one day.
A sincere and non-hypocritical Happiness-Advocacy by you with this acquaintance would enrich your view on life beyond you can imagine. Your empathy will bring tremendous Happiness to you, and perhaps to your acquaintance as well.
This will occur irrespective of the fact that beyond Happiness-Advocacy you have absolutely no 'solution' to her career dilemma.
Happiness-Advocacy works wonders. Your advocating Happiness's virtue enables you to guard yourself (and your dear ones) from potential sadness caused by life's uncertainty (which could very much be there in your relationships as well). Happiness-Advocacy - be it with your spouse, your siblings, your children, your parents, your friends.
In a nutshell, Happiness-Advocacy enables you to face life.
By learning constantly from life. Every day of your life.
You are now never caught unawares.
When any unhappy-situation arrives, you know from the very many learning, how to tackle it.
You are strong. You are happiness-ready.
The Golden Rule: Advocate happiness - at least once a day. Spread it. And feel the difference.
Of course- with absolutely no side effects it can be done as many times a day as you want.
The only special effect it has is...it brings MORE happiness to you.
So are you a Happiness-Advocate...

Is Sound sleep a dream? Try Grounded-in-the-Moment Technique

Title: Is Sound sleep a dream? Try Grounded-in-the-Moment Technique
Many of us are constantly troubled by a lack of sound sleep - with its effect known to most.
Lethargy, Passivity, Ennui.
One cause - mind's thought processing continues during the so called sleep time. Physically the body is resting but mind is not getting its due share of "rest" (since it needs to process thoughts).
This 'overtime' by the mind is because of the daytime's unfinished business.
Complex situations created before us (like a quarrel with spouse) are inventoried to be processed 'later'. Subconsciously we refuse to deal with them right then and there. We choose to look away when the challenge faces us in that moment. This 'residue' is there at our bedside and quietly knocks into our dreams when we really want to sleep.
Grounded-in-the-Moment technique solves it for you. It means that you remain firmly grounded, looking completely fearlessly at this challenge that arises before you during the waking hour. This challenge could range from your not-so-good appraisal after an year's hard work to a sarcastic remark from a trusted friend. Things that usually make you demoralized, unhappy immediately or pretty soon after they 'occur' .
What it means to be Grounded-in-the-Moment? It is simple. For instance, when you aim at a dartboard, you don't move, shift, or look away. You are Grounded-in-the-Moment. You just focus on the challenge - The Bull's eye. You thus have all the capacity to solve and face the complex operation. Such a process finishes without any residue being left, any inventorying of issues for the mind to process later.
Of course, sometimes you are not able to solve the problem or overcome this challenge (i.e. you miss the Bull's eye!). Then what? Is there any residue left? The greatest fact about this technique is - irrespective of your success (and yeah...your failure) at the so-called 'successfully solving the problem', the residue is never left if you simply had faced the challenge in the first place - fully & finally without fearing it.
Its simple. Just look at the challenge as it arises. You meet it where it arises. Don't give it an opportunity to chase you, haunt you later.
Try NOT-leaving the daytime residue behind and experience a change.

A Guide to Dequeuing the Mind

A Guide to Dequeuing the Mind:
We are talking of those hours and days where our mind (involuntarily- semi or fully) keeps going round in a circle. We keep thinking of that same action, same fear, same hurt, that image, that thought. This acts as an input to our mind which leads to the same old, non-fresh output state in us. This process goes on more strongly with negative inputs creating a negative state in most of us - not an equilibrium state of happiness. So we feel lethargic and non-cheerful while all this goes on.
Dequeing is a technique of transforming this unpleasant (recurring) input. It says 'transform the old input since old input can just produce the old non-cheerful output. Pump fresh inputs and see yourself feeling elated and happy.
Pumping fresh input is easy- just close your eyes for 20 seconds (positively) and see your own face overlaid with a smile.
